OpenTelemetry Engineer – Remote
We are seeking an OpenTelemetry Engineer to lead and mentor a team of observability engineers who support enterprise platforms and services. This full-time position requires a hands-on leader who can define and execute observability direction, drive reliability and automation initiatives, and collaborate across distributed engineering organizations to improve monitoring, tracing, and platform health.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of observability engineers responsible for supporting enterprise platforms and services.
- Define and execute observability direction and initiatives to improve platform visibility, reliability, and operational maturity.
- Promote and apply best practices in automation, DevOps, and reliability engineering to reduce toil and improve incident response.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate observability into the software development lifecycle and production operations.
- Coordinate with and support globally distributed teams as required to deliver consistent observability standards and practices.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring engineering teams, including working with globally distributed teams.
- Strong background in automation, DevOps, and reliability engineering practices.
- Experience supporting observability for enterprise platforms and services.
- Familiarity with observability concepts, tooling, and practices.
- Ability to define and execute technical strategy and translate it into actionable plans for the team.
Work Arrangement
This is a 5 days onsite role based in Arizona.
